Road Trips - Bala Cranberry Festival
A sure sign that Christmas is just around the corner is the Annual Bala Cranberry Festival. With the Thanksgiving weekend upon us and Halloween fast approaching the Bala Cranberry festival offers a glimpse of Christmas and an opportunity to do a little early shopping.

In Bala preparations are well underway for the 2011 Cranberry Festival that takes place October 14th, 15th from 9am to 5pm and on the 16th from 9am to 4pm.

Food at the festival is varied and plentiful with homemade chili, cranberry crepes and barbecued items readily available.
Parking is available at the north and south end of Bala on Muskoka Road 169 but you may want to take one of the shuttle buses as parking will be difficult to find with the anticipated attendance.

I haven't heard of a cranberry festival.. I wish I was closer... I love all these festivals in the fall.
